My Letter to Mr Hipkins

Dear Mr Hipkins

My name is Helena Kendrick I am writing about the heat lately. I know you aren't mother nature but something you could do for us is install a new air conditioner in our building to cool us all down.

We all know that you were kind enough to fund for our two new buildings Tiwai and Kopapa so why not put in a new air conditioner while you are at it?

Lately, the weather has been wonderful but scorching hot! We would like to be able to run around outside then come inside to cool off! But instead, we come inside to squish together and build up our body heat which then can’t cool down because there is no air flow. With air conditioning, we could run around outside the come inside to cool off.we would be relieved of how nice it is and would concentrate harder because we won’t have a headache caused by this burning heat. Plus isn’t one of your demands that every child should have a go at education and learning but we cannot learn nor concentrate in such heat and with a cloud of sandflies hovering above us. If you agree we would be the happiest kids in the school and there are 500 of us!I hope you are at least considering my request
Yours sincerely,
Helena Kendrick, Kaiapoi North School

Tōtara Weekly Reflection
Term:      1         Week: 3
Some work I am proud of is my letter to Mr Hipkins

This week was my first session of music, it was fun and I enjoyed learning the ukelele

What challenged me over the last week and why? one thing that challenged me was my reading hopscotch when I had to do an advertisement for a holiday park I went to it was hard for me because I couldn't think of anything to describe the Tahunanui camping grounds

How did I overcome these challenges or what do I need to do to overcome them in the future? I need to research it to refresh my memory about the holiday park

What is my personal goal for next week?
to get my work done with more quality and done quicker

This fortnights Tōtara goal was active listening and I achieved/showed
this by remembering what the teacher said and not having to ask someone what the teacher said
