PHOBIA INFORMATION REPORT

Phobias are a fear of an object, animal or situation. People with phobias can go to great lengths to avoid there fears. Phobias are also a type of anxiety disorder.

Why do we have phobias? We have phobias because of relatives and ancestors with anxiety, age and gender also affect phobias, for example women are more likely to have a fear of animals, men are more likely to have a fear of doctors and dentist and children are more likely to have social phobias and anxiety. Fear of a particular object often lead to panic attacks.

The most common phobias are: Trypanophobia, fear of needles Astraphobia, fear of storms, entomophobia, the fear of insects and arachnophobia, the most common phobia in America - the phobia of spiders. There are some strange ones is well, like somniphobia, the fear of falling asleep, oikophobia, the fear of houses, arachibutyrophobia, the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth, Chorophobia, the fear of dancing and even trumpophobia, obviously the fear of the US President donald trump.

To conclude, there are more to phobias than just a fear, they are a type of anxiety diorder. There are also a phobia for everything including houses!
